Scholarship Program

Canossian Mission Areas are often located in marginalized and underserved communities on the periphery. These areas are typically situated in remote or economically disadvantaged regions, where access to essential resources and services is limited. The Canossian Fathers prioritize these mission areas to reach those who are often overlooked, providing spiritual, educational, and social support to uplift and empower the residents.

A large proportion of families in our mission areas live below the poverty line, making it difficult to afford basic necessities, let alone educational expenses. This economic hardship often forces students to drop out of school to work and support their families.

The Bakhita Canossa Foundation Inc (BCFI) Advocacy on Youth Development (Scholarship Program) aims to expand the opportunities for a better life for empowered and nurtured children and youth.

The program aims to give non-tuition fee support to 185 student to help them complete the school year. With the necessary supplies and financial support, students can focus on their studies, leading to better academic outcomes. By covering educational expenses, the program alleviates the financial burden on families amounting to P9,509.43, allowing them to allocate resources to other critical needs.

Program Components

  1. School Supplies Provision

At the beginning of the school year, each student will receive a complete set of school supplies, including notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and other essential materials.

  • Monthly School Allowance

Each student will receive a monthly allowance. This allowance will help cover costs such as transportation, meals, and other incidental expenses, thereby promoting regular attendance and academic focus.

  • Student Savings Program

Students will participate in a savings program where they save a minimum of one peso per day, or more if they choose (minimum of P30 savings per month). This program not only teaches the importance of saving but also provides students with a financial cushion for future educational needs or emergencies.
