The Bakhita Canossa Foundation, Inc. (BCFI) was formally established and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 12, 2011, marking its official recognition as a non-profit organization committed to uplifting marginalized communities through education, development, and capacity-building programs.

In addition to its SEC registration, the foundation holds a certificate of registration and license to operate from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), affirming its compliance with regulatory standards for social welfare organizations. This certification underscores BCFI’s commitment to providing effective and accountable services to its beneficiaries.

BCFI has also earned the donee institution status certification from the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), signifying its credibility and transparency as a recipient of donations and grants. This certification allows donors to receive tax incentives for their contributions, further encouraging support for the foundation’s initiatives.

Since its inception, the foundation has been driven by the values of St. Josephine Bakhita and St. Magdalene of Canossa, focusing on programs such as educational scholarships, youth development, and community empowerment.
