The “Solar Savings for Social Impact” project is a visionary endeavor aimed at harnessing solar energy to generate significant savings on electricity bills, which will be directed towards funding various social action programs.
Dorillo is a barangay in the municipality of Jipapad, in the province of Eastern Samar. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 239. This represented 2.83% of the total population of Jipapad. Barangay Dorillo is an 8 kilometer walk from the main town of Jipapad. There are no paved roads for vehicles which leaves walking as the only option to reach the barangay.
Barangay Dorillo faces significant socio-economic challenges that impact access to essential services, including education. The area has a notably low educational attainment rate, with only about 1% of residents reaching higher education levels. This low rate reflects barriers such as poverty, limited school access, and a lack of resources to support educational growth.
